Hinge Plate Installation Jig — Snap-In Mount, Self-Registering — Inset Doors
SHORT DESCRIPTION:
Self-registering installation jig that holds the entire hinge plate mount stack in place while you drive screws. Snap our 1/4" Base Mounting Block (and any stacked expanders) into the jig, sleeve the jig over the 3/4" face frame, slide to the top or bottom of the opening, and screw it down. No marking, no pilot drilling, no transferring measurements. One-step install, perfectly aligned, every cabinet.
FULL PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
This isn't just a marking jig — it's a complete installation jig that holds your entire hinge plate mount assembly in exact position while you drive the screws.
Here's how it works: snap the 1/4" Base Mounting Block (and any stacked expanders for your setback depth) into the two pockets on the front of the jig. Sleeve the jig over your 3/4" face frame to register front-to-back. Slide the jig up to the top of the door opening (or down to the bottom) to register vertically. Now your hinge plate mount is locked in the exact position it needs to land — and the jig is holding it there. Drive your screws through the mounting block into the cabinet side. Pop the jig off. Done.
No measuring. No marking. No pilot drilling. No "hold this in place while I screw it in." The jig does the holding, the registering, and the alignment all at once.
Why shops love this jig:
- Holds the mount stack in place during installation — base block AND expanders snap into the jig
- Self-registering in two axes — sleeves over the 3/4" face frame, slides to the opening edge
- Eliminates the entire marking-and-drilling step — go straight from snap-in to screw-down
- One jig handles top, bottom, and center hinge positions — flip for top/bottom, use the triangle sight window for the center hinge on tall doors
- Repeatable across every cabinet in a kitchen — every hinge plate lands in identical position
- Built for the Blum & Titus long arm hinge plate mounting pattern
- Works with the full modular system — 1/4" base alone, or stacked with any expander (3/8", 3/4", 1-1/4" total assemblies)
- Printed in PETG for impact resistance and shop durability
- Available in black or natural
The complete workflow:
- Build your hinge mount stack for the cabinet's setback (base alone, or base + the right expander)
- Snap the stack into the front pockets of the jig
- Sleeve the jig over the 3/4" face frame with the mount stack facing into the cabinet
- Slide the jig to the top of the door opening — the jig is now fully registered
- Drive screws through the mount into the cabinet side — the jig holds everything in place
- Pop the jig off and move to the next hinge
- Flip the jig and repeat at the bottom of the opening for the bottom hinge
- For tall doors, position the jig vertically and use the triangular sight window to align the center hinge
From "pick up the jig" to "hinge mount fully screwed in place": under 60 seconds per location.

- Sold as: Single jig (one jig handles all three hinge positions by flipping)
Pairs perfectly with — and is built specifically for — our Modular Inset Hinge Plate Mounting System:
- 1/4" Inset Hinge Plate Mounting Block (10-pack)
- 3/8" Expander (10-pack)
- 3/4" Expander (10-pack)
- 1-1/4" Expander (10-pack)
- Complete Modular Hinge Mount Kit (bundle)
The jig is designed around this exact system. The pockets are sized for the base block, the depth accommodates any expander stack you build, and the registration matches the way the mount sits behind the face frame. One jig + the modular system = the fastest inset hinge plate install on the market.
Common applications:
- Inset cabinet doors with standard 3/4" face frame construction
- Production cabinet shops running kitchens with consistent door styles
- Custom cabinet builds where parallel door alignment matters across an entire run
- Tall doors requiring a third middle hinge
- Shops standardizing on Blum or Titus long arm hardware
- Anyone tired of marking, drilling, holding, swearing
Designed and printed in-house by working cabinetmakers. This jig came out of building too many inset kitchens the hard way. Once we built it, hinge plate install went from a 10-minute-per-cabinet headache to a 60-second operation. Now we're sharing it with other shops fighting the same problem.
